Ok, so my isp provider is Cox. I have a Cisco DPC3825 router. I was having problems connecting to the router from my room since they are each on separate sides of the house. So I ran a 100 ft ethernet cord under the house to have a stable connection. However, my internet download speed has drastically dropped. On wifi, I would stay anywhere from 1.5 to 2 mb/s (I live in the country, which is why its so low). Now however, it will hit 2 mb/s for like 5 seconds before instantly dropping down to 0. Is there something wrong with my router? Or could it be a computer issue?

If it is a problem with your computer it would have to be at the network card level becaue otherwise your wifi would have the same issue.

Try using a different computer, different etherent port on the router, and a different cable to diagnose the issue.

Is the cable under the house running alongside any high power electrical lines?
