Hello there, thanks for reading this post.

I am having his problem, for about 2 years. but evrything i tried to do didn't fix the problem.

one day i bought an alienware x51, and installed it in my room. from the first day of use i started having problems with my Wireless network adapter needing a reset every 5 minutes. the programs i used most often were skype and games together. but becouse of this problem this problem i couldn't play properly or skype properly becouse every 5 minutes (roughly) i had to reset my wireless network adapter and reconnect to the game/skype.

so after a year and a half i sold my alienware for a decent prize and started using my older laptop again (acer notebook) and now i only use it to watch videos but now the same problem has started to happen on my notebook

also i have diffrent place were i stay often and have thesame problome there. but there if i reset the network adapter i need to wait atleast 5 more min. before i can actually do something on the internet.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

what i usually do is diagnose on my wirelles network adapter and then it resets itself, but sometimes i have to manually reset it. also when i use ethernet this does not happen. and when i go right next to the router it happens a bit less.

this is my network adapter : Atheros AR5BWB222 Wireless Network Adapter

it's drivers are outdated but i cannot find how to update them.

many thanks if you can help me. becouse i am about to throw this dang computer against the wall.:(

It sounds like the PC keeps losing its default gateway. One way to fix this is to go into your internet options and assign the default gateway (your router IP address) manually

Oh okay i tested it to see if it was indeed the problem with the default gateway ... turns out it is something else

Rapport:

Found problems

reset wireless adapter done
Problems with router or connection point not done

i translated it .. so might not be correct in english but i use an other language ...
