I'm thinking about getting an HP Envy 15.6-inch Full HD BrightView LED-backlit Display (1920x1080) and an NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 740M Graphics with 2048MB of dedicated video memory, and I was wondering if my gaming performance for games such as Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 would be bad if I ran them in native resolution.

My other specs are:
4th generation Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ Processor 2.4 GHz (3.4 GHz w/ Turbo Boost)
8GB DDR3 System Memory (1 Dimm)
1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive

Nice that is almost setup mine is just the 17' envy. The GPU isn't that great but for most games I can do a mix of low and med settings. The newer games I do need to run in 1600x900(warframe) or 1280*720(titanfall) though. Doesn't look terrible but def not the nicest.

To be honest you do not have to run them in native resolution, you can still run it on 1680x1050 for example (or whatever it is). The 740m is a decent card and I think it can run the game maybe near the max settings no problems. Since it is a laptop that is what I am not sure about but you can run it in native resolution the only thing it will do is decrease FPS.
