windows XP update

my windows XP wont update. Action center shows pop-up box state that action center canntot update windows, it also effect my antivirus, windows defender, security service. I've tried to restore and no result. troubleshooting shows no problem

Windows XP is officially EOL (end of life) this month.

No more updates for it as far as I am aware. Meaning your machine is a HUGE security risk while online. I would upgrade my OS/PC as soon as possible if I were you.

Debbie, are you meaning that Windows Update won't work? If that's the case check to make sure your BIOS date and clock are the same as your Windows date and clock. When they aren't fairly close in sync it can cause errors like that. Another question, this isn't a new install of XP is it? If its not service pack 3 to begin with your Windows Update won't work. You'll need to download and install SP3 separately from Microsoft. Once that's installed Update will work as it should.

We all know official XP support is ending soon, but Windows Update will still support XP for anyone reinstalling the OS for several more years at least (there just won't be any new additions to its catalog of patches and updates past 4/8/14).
