How to whipe hard drive completely

I'm having issues with my hard drive that nobody will help me with. I just want to start fresh, I can back up the necessary files to my SSD. I just want everything gone from my HDD besides my OS. how do I do this efficiently?

wiping the hard drive (HDD) completely is different than removing everything BUT the OS unless you intend to reinstall just the OS.

To do that you will need to power off, disconnect the SSD, and then boot off the OS installation media and format the HDD in the beginning of the install process.
