I currently have this build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3flk4, and was wondering what my best option would be for replacing the stock cpu cooler and adding more fans with higher performance parts ( or replacing the current ones if it would make a big difference)

Solution
The Hyper 212 won't perform as well as the Noctua, but it will perform good enough for half the price. If you want better cooling (and don't have a window, god those fans are an eyesore) then go with the Noctua for sure.

He really doesn't need one at all assuming that part list is correct. That being said, the Hyper 212 Evo is only $35 so whether he needs it or not it's not too big of a deal.

No there is not, I am purchasing a 770 in a few months. I needed to throw this together at Frys in one day to replace a dead laptop. I am getting fairly warm temps ( I want it cold) hence the question. I was looking at the Noctua NH-U12 S to replace the stock one. Am I better off getting this or is the difference versus the Hyper 212 Evo?
