Questions with CPU bottlenecking my GPU

Well, my setup is an AMD Phenom II X4 840T with stock clocks and Sapphire R9 270X. My motherboard is an ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0. I have 12GB of RAM, 8 of which are GSKILL Ripjaws, they are DDR3 1600 the other 4 is 1333, which is causing my ram to be slower than it could be, but i have no need for fast RAM. So my question is how bad is my system bottlenecked due to my semi-old processor? I will be upgrading to an FX-8320 when i get the money, but until then im stuck with my faithful Phenom II. My second question was how to figure out wether or not there is a bottleneck, also the Sapphire R9 270X is running in a PCIE X16 2.0 slot.

Eh, it probably will, anything severe though? Probably not. To see if it is use programs to measure CPU usage vs GPU usage. If your CPU is maxed out and you're having troubles getting acceptable FPS in a game and your GPU is only at 60% usage, then there is a bottleneck.
