Hello,

I installed a Samsung 840 Pro SSD, and installed the Magician software. I set it up to NOT start on startup.

When I try to start it, Windows 7 asks me "Do you want to let this program make changes to your computer?" If I say no, it terminates the program before it even starts.

Is there no way to start this program just to check system settings without it trying to make changes to the system?

Thanks.

You just need to remove the program from the Start-up tab in MSCONFIG. You do not need Magician running in the background since it doesn't do anything in the background. When you enable RAPID mode, it starts a separate service, so you don't need the Magician program to run until you actually want to use it.

You want it to run , as it does tweak your SSD and give you better performance.
I benched marked mine and saw a big difference with and without the software.
Give it a try if you don't like what it does just uninstall it.

I gather that you get this when ever you start Magician and not eveytime you start the pc. If that is correct then this is normal windows security. You can either lower your security settings or live with it. Personally, run it once to enable rapid mode and the windows optimizations and then you probably wont need to run it again.
