I just upgraded my mobo and cpu from the phenom 1055 and an old msi to a fx8350 and a asus sabertooth. I've tried safe mode, last known good config and Windows repair. Anyone got any ideas?

When you change out a motherboard you usually have to completely reinstall Windows. If you don't Windows tends to run into issues with having drivers for the old set of hardware trying to work on the newer set of hardware, and you can run into issues even booting up. If running the repair install didn't help, you'll just have to do a clean reinstall of the OS.
