recently my PC, home built of course, has been having seizures. Mostly it thinks my mouse is clicking everything numerous times when I move it around. Ie if I click start it opens sims 3, dark souls, skype etc. It also has no control over switching windows anymore as closing a window makes something entirely unrelated pop up.if I try to use ctrl-alt-del to get out to and try task manager the screen flash through the prompts and I get the welcome screen from login. The only way out has been the reset switch on the front. What's the root of this issue? All I've installed in the past month are steam games and no I've done hardware changes for over 3 months now.

Solution
I have experienced this issue...

Test with another Keyboard / Mouse

one of these is playing up

Try turning over keyboard and tapping it on the back to loosen (food, dust, other bit and drabs) check keys arnt sticking - esp - Alt and CTRL
You can't do anything about it. I would first check RAM, CPU, HDD, Wi-Fi Card (if any), Audio Card (if any), and GPU. If those are plugged in, check the GPU. Get a random graphics card, and if it works, then you need a new GPU. If not, then it's either PCI or chipset.

Okay, I noticed that it was having some coil whine lately form max payne 3 but I figured that normal as many people reported it. It's a MSI 7950 TF3, by the way. What software should I be using for testing and what exactly am I looking for?

And if my problem persists I should just RMA the gpu? It's not a 24/7 issue by the way, it happens mostly after I wake my PC from sleep but not always. I'm on the PC to access this thread, and even after about 6 hours use now it's working fine.

I have a 4 year old R.A.T 7 and a razer deathstalker, the deathstalker has always had a bad keyspamming issue on the login screen though, maybe that's part of the issue...

Just opened the PC and doubled checked all the connections. All my PCI and PCI-E components are fimly in place. RAM is fine as well. Fans are connected and PSU cables are good as well. I think we can rule out a connection problem.

I ran tests on the fans, they seem fine. Even put a meter to see if there was any kind of electrical issue. Looks like it's a pheripheral problem. I'll change these out and see if the problem persists
