Hi everyone,

First of all, excuse me for my poor English.

I have a very good PC build with those specs:

i7 4770K @ stock speed
GTX 680 Galaxy CG 4 GB
4 GB Dimms * 2
Corsair 750 Watt PSU
Asus Hero Mobo
1 TB HDD WD green

Even with this specs, I can't play BF4 in Ultra settings !!
I feel the game is slow, with a low frames.

When I do a frames test, I got this result:
Min Max Avg
12 62 55.735

As you can see, the avg. frames is 55,7 but the game still unplayable in the Ultra, and I don't know what the issue!!

I saw my friend play BF4 in a good graphics look, but I can't play with the same graphics level with my PC which costs a lot of money !

More about : 4770k gtx 680 fps bf4

try a reinstallation of drivers.

but 12 is the minimum. 55 average seems reasonable on a 1080p resolution at ultra.

maybe you have vsync on?

Run CPU-Z and GPU-Z and make sure things are running properly and at the right frequencies. Check your memory, it should be running at 800+ mhz in CPU-Z. Also, re-install drivers. Does this happen in other games?

@babachicken
I will try to reinstall the GPU driver, and make a new fraps test.
And, the Vsync is on, cuz I like what it does, but did the Vsync make a sense ?

@huskersforever
The Dimms run @ 666 , because I didn't change the frequency from the BIOS yet.
The CPU and the GPU works fine.

Are you using windows vista or 7 or 8?
That makes a big differnece

It looks like it is occasionally lagging up, that is probably a loading issue, related to the hard drive performance. Have you defragged your hdd recently?

run openhardwaremonitor and see if anything is hitting 100% usage during gaming. If not, it's likely a network or HDD issue

@MFBLO96
No, I didn't defragge the HDD yet, so I will do that, and see if that can resolve the problem.

@leeb2013

I got some weird thing in the openhardwaremonitor

CPU temp: 88 C (is it safe)?

CPU total load: 73%

Memory: 78%

GPU core: 99%

What do you think ?

Temp on cpu too high.
Get an aftermarket cpu cooler

It looks like there is no issue with the gpu or cpu, it is likely a disk fagmentation problem or a read speed problem

If those were while you was playing I'd say it's GPU driver issue (Although the CPU temp looks a little bit hot).
If you don't have really important data in the partition where your system is installed, Reinstall Windows and then install the latest stable (non beta) drivers from Nvidia website. I had a situation in the past when a software was pushing on the CPU and GPU preventing them from giving their full potential. The problem was fixed after reinstalling windows and the performance was way better.

That CPU temperature is quite high, it's just about at the max safe temperature for an i7. You could pick up a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO for about $35 and almost certainly see decreased temps. If a CPU gets too hot it will decrease its own performance to cool off.

I'm not certain that's the problem, but it can't hurt and $35 is pretty cheap.

Are those loads max or average? I'm assuming max.

CPU temp definitely high. My I5 is 55C with 4.4GHz o/c in BF4, usage 50-70%. That's with an EVO cooler. I guess the performance of the stock cooler is not very good, I never tried it, but also check the seating of the cooler and thermal paste.

Your GPU usage is high too. A single 7950 (<<< GTX680) used to hit 100% on 3 monitors periodically, crossfire they were at 50% and my R9-290 is at 50-60% on 3 monitors. BF4 is not graphically demanding. As it hits 100%, your fps will drop off. Try a clean sweep of drivers and reinstall.

While reading your comments, the CPU temp was:
50 C avg., and 65 max, in idle situation, with highest case fan speed !!
I think my main issue is the temp, I will try to fix that, and see what I get.

Thanks guys for your help.

The issue that causes the drops is not temperature, it is the hard drive.

Your gpu is supposed to run at 100% useage. If it is not then something is wrong.
Whoever said it should run at a lower percentage is wrong. You gpu should always be maxed out while gaming because that means it is running the highest frame rate possible.

There is usually a solution besides buying new parts: in this case you should defrag the hard drive

That's only if the framerate isn't capped.

You are correct,
But, he said his max fps is 62, meaning he does not cap it

Unless he caps it at 62. XD
I get your point though. I doubt anyone caps at 62 fps.

I got a different temp when I use the AI Suit 3 (41 C) when the openhardwaremonitor give me (50 C) for the CPU package !

I'm confused, cuz I don't know what's the real temp!

Which one is more important: the Cores temp ? or the CPU itself temp ?

Different programs will give you different readings. Anyways, dust out your computer. If that doesn't solve it, you need a better heatsink like we've previously discussed.

Try using RealTemp. Never seen any issues with it.
