I have a HP pavillion elite e9220y that has a 300w power supply. I wanted to figure out if I could run a Radeon HD 6670 1gb on this computer. My processor is an AMD Phenom II x4 910 (4 CPU's) ~2.6GHz. If this card will not work is there any other good cards that are less than $100 that would work?

Solution
If you can find an AMD Radeon HD7750 for ~$100, that would probably be the best card for your money. Otherwise you can try the AMD R7 250 or GDDR5 HD6670.

All those cards will run on a 300W PSU, even the cheap one's that are put into HP's.

how about the GTX750 for $120 ? or 750 Ti for $150. these 2 cards use 55w and 60w from nVidia. i personally using the 750 Ti with my 300w psu(dell inspiron 3000 mini tower) while typing this!

You can use a Radeon 7750 or lower GPU. GDDR5 memory over DDR3 memory is essential for decent performance. Buy the correct one as there are often 2 choices of memory at this price point. The 6670 does not use the current GCN architecture so it is also slower than it appears.

The Radeon R7 250 (don't buy the x version 250x, as that requires an extra power connector) would be ideal for you, under $100 dollars and allows good gaming performance at 1600x900. I prefer Asus myself, so try this one:

If you can spend 150 dollars, the nVidia GTX 750ti is your highest performing option with that PSU, as the other person said.
