Hey there, i have saved around 1k to upgrade my computer, although i am unsure as to what component(s) i should upgrade. I have been contemplating purchasing a GTX 780ti and another monitor for a dual screen setup.

Setup currently -

Motherboard: Z77-D3H
Video Card: Sapphire HD 7970
CPU: i7 2600k
RAM: 2 x 4gb Vengeance
PSU: 750W

Any advice would be much appreciated as to what i should upgrade first.

Thanks

IMHO you do NOT need to upgrade your CPU. Have you Overclocked it yet? Lots of those 2600Ks could hit 4.5Ghz+, which would be faster than an E3-1240 V2 (which you can't OC).
As long as you have a good quality 750W PSU and compatible mobo, I agree with Bharathula's suggestion, get a second 7970 (or a 280X, they're the same card).
What's your monitor resolution?

What are you unsatisfied with? Are you looking for more FPS? Are you looking for 3 x 1080p or 2 x 1440p set up?

Gaming wise, keep your CPU and motherboard, they are still more than enough for gaming.
GPU is also pretty strong, unless like I've mentioned you're are unsatisfied for the current performance, then we will go in details about what to upgrade.

Thanks for the replies, yeah I'm not content with the FPS whilst playing games like BF4, and COD ghosts, on ultra at 1980 x 1080 on a single monitor. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Mmmm...
Your CPU should not have a problem with upgrades especially with an aftermarket heat sink. You might just want to consider upgrading your GPU and RAM.
These are good for $1000
RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws X 16GB (2 x 8GB). Should be around about $190 to $200
GPU - MSI GeForce GTX 780 3GB. Last time I checked these were around $700 if I'm correct.
Hope this helps (if I'm correct)!

You have a pretty strong system. If I were you I would stick with what I have now.. Save some extra bucks.. and wait for the 800 series to come out.
BTW, If you don't have an SSD yet, get one! You'll have a great performance boost in everyday tasks. And for the RAM, 8GB is more than enough for current games, I don't think you have to upgrade now.. Just wait until you really need 16GB, until that time, the prices will only drop :)

The 800M series is already out (mobile version of 800 series). For desktop version nobody knows. But the rumors say it'll be this year.
For the SSD, I've heard that Samsung 840 PROs are performing well. I've never used these, I'm using a SANDISK X210 512GB SSD and it was the most dramatic performance boost since I got my PC.

Rumor says Q3, Q4 of 2014.

Samsung and Intel are the most reliable SSD brands in the market, for fact, because they are the only two manufacturers in the world that makes their own SSD from scratch to end product. Samsung manufacturers NAND, saves the best for themselves, and sell the rest of them to other SSD manufacturers.
I'm not saying others are all bad and horrible, which they are not. I'm just saying that Samsung and Intel usually performs best and never breaks without a proper reason.

With that said, I recommend Samsung 840 EVO series. They do not perform as fast as Samsung 840 PRO series, but the EVO is a lot cheaper while still performing like a beast.
