Hello, My old computer is starting to take a dive and was thinking about upgrading to a new Desktop PC.

I'm in the USA and my budget is capped at about $1,000.

I do video editing work and currently a college student, I was looking for advice on how to build a decent to good computer that also has 3d.

What I mean is I am looking to be able to watch 3d movies on the PC, I figured I would have to buy a 3d compatible monitor and possibly a nvidea vision 2 (only one ive found but very open to other options).

Also I don't need a OS but yes on the Monitor

To anyone who has experience with this I would really appreciate tips, a build list, a link to a prebuilt, or any pushes in the right direction.

Thanks to anyone who helps out (been googling for awhile with not much luck especially because every time you put 3d it assumes you mean 3d rendering models)

Thanks again!

ps.I was hoping to buy within the next few days

Yes, AMD has an option for 3D called HD3D. I would also recommend the r9 290 over the 770 and the 780 :)
The problem here are the monitors, they are hard to find. Here is a great one but it is not available in the US (according to pc part picker, you may find one).

Here are more options:

Here is a link to all the supported displays (hardly any):

IMO you shouldn't get a HD3D monitor because it looks like AMD abandoned it. I still recommend you use the r9 290 and get 3D some time down the road.

Well AMD would be nice to be able to mine with from time to time, but I was thinking nvidia card because I thought that the vision would only work with nvidia card's. Is there a setup I could use with a AMD and still have 3d capabilities?

>>Edit: I forgot to say I have a r9 290 gpu in my old computer that I could use for the new build if it could have 3d capabilities since gpu's always cost a lot I figured I could keep the price down a bit doing that. (it does say that card does have 3d capabilities)

I will keep the 290, but for the new computer would you happen to have a build list for the nvidea setup under $1000? I noticed the one you posted before didn't include the vision hardware and was around $1100, thanks again for your help so far

It was close to $1000. If you would like to pick up the 3D glasses, that would cost you extra. The monitor however supports 3D, which is what you asked for. I am assuming you have some RAM and perhaps the storage from your old build. If not, please tell me as it will be critical to the build.
Thanks

I currently have 4 gigs of DDR3 ram, the harddrive would need to be replaced though, Also I don't need a OS.

I am looking for a build that comes 3d ready to use, so I would assume the build would need to include nvidea vision in it unless there is a workaround. Thanks again
