Building a new PC for the first time, need advice/recomendation for the products.

Hello guys,

Sorry if I post on the wrong section as this is my first time posting in tom's Hardware forum. I'm interested to build my very own PC for the first time as it's much more cheaper and has much more advantages compared to pre-built PCs, especially the price.

I'm just wondering if this set up will run just fine/needs to be tweaked ? I've been googling for the past 3 days to search for more information. I'm planning to build GTX 770 SLI for the PC.

I'm a little bit concerned though for the PSU, is it OK for me to use 750w PSU ? I'm not planning to OC the CPU/GPU for now as I'm afraid to wreck things up.

PSU should be xfx xtr 750 or seasonic 750 . . buy WD HDD instead of seagate . . other things are ok . . you are buying unlocked processor and a Z87 board which allows you to OC . . if you not going to OC it at any time so it is just waste of money .

STACKS ON DECK :

To be honest I'm really interested to OC the CPU & GPU, but I am afraid that it'll reduce the shelf life of the CPU and GPU.

Also, can you suggests me one a reliable CPU cooler if I want to OC ? As I do understand Intel's stock fan is not powerful enough to cool down the CPU while being OCed.

hyper evo 212 is good one for OC to 4.0 to 4.5 and fairly affordable . . OC cpu will not much effect life if temperatures are controlled properly . . good ventillation in the case and good cooler does it for you . . and you plan to OC later so all choices are good . just change the PSU and check what i recommended

what is the purpose of your PC? for gaming just go for AMD processors -> for 3d softwares go for intel. (AMD will serve you more power to price ratio)

and you may not need 750W PSU-> please check max of DC out while purchasing PSUs ( i suggest Antec)

Hard drive-> go for western digital.

OC is just normal-> for cooling just buy costly Antec cabinet with many fans. its just enough(no need to buy separate fan)

while gaming, your GPU and CPU will consume more power->so buy a UPS with more than PSU's max Watts.!( this is important)
