Hi I have a pretty "common" issue but with a little twist. Yesterday I tried updating my NVIDIA beta driver for my GTX 460. After the update the computer worked fine for a bit until it went to sleep and since then my screen has been completly black. Even on start-up I can't see the motherboard start-up screen and this made me think of hardware issues. However if I have my sound on I can hear the windows booting normally to desktop and I can interact with my computer with mouse and keyboard commands. So the only problem is I have no picture. I have switched monitor, tested my VGA-cable from a working computer to a working monitor and it worked fine. Also connected a laptop to my pc screen and it worked fine so there's nothing wrong with my screen or cable. I then went into my computer and switched place on my graphic card to bottom slot and I've tried reseating the motherboard battery to reset CMOS. Still nothing. The next step would be switching graphic card but unfortunately I have noone to borrow one from. I have googled around and read that graphic card update might cause this problem and that rolling back drivers could solve it. Only problem is my screen is completely black with no mouse cursor and I can't actually navigate to roll back option. I tried navigating with keyboard-commands by looking at the laptop and doing the same thing on my pc but it's actually impossible since I dunno if they look the same. Still I don't even know if this would solve anything since the problem presents before bios boot.

Some more information would be that I have "kinda" had this problem before, with the screen not starting after it went to sleep, but then I just restarted my computer which solved the issue which made me not put any more thought into it. Of course I have tried this but it doesn't work this time.

Any ideas?

Ok I solved it! Got hold of a card (GTX210) and tested it and it worked like a charm. Also tried uninstalling the old drivers and placed back my old card and I still had the same problem. So the problem was a broken card. Tested and confirmed :)
