Hey guys, so this is a follow-up to my previous question on whether my set-up was overkill for playing games at 1920x1080 on a single monitor. After what many said, I decided to change the set-up as it was just overkill and gave diminishing returns. Well, here's the new set-up:

Well, it's much less expensive than before. I want to be able to play the latest games with maximum settings turned on (including highest possible anti-aliasing) for the next few years to come at 2560x1440 while still getting 60+ fps, will this set-up suffice? Or is it overkill and should I just FINALLY settle for a single GTX Titan Black?

The CPU is pointless. Unless you are encpoding professional video, it is the biggest waste of money.Change it for an i7 4770k AT MOST. Even an i5 is fine. In fact, most people use an i5 as an i5 has little performance gains in gaming.

Also, do not plan for the future. Tech changes too fast for that now a days. New GPUs might come out in a year that are half the price of a 780ti but perform twice as well. Happens all the time. Build a rig for now, not for the future.

That processor is massive massive overkill for gaming. Even an i5 4670K overclocked to 4.4Ghz would be fine to game at 1440p if you get some fast RAM (not more RAM). Yeh GTX 780 Ti is fine for 1440p gaming but some benchmarks suggest the Gigabyte GTX 780 Ghz is faster than a stock 780 Ti. Save money on the processor and get a GTX Titan Black so you can show off to your friends on a daily basis.

This is not true at all and pretty poor advice. There is ZERO way to predict future proofing., as it doesn't even really exist. People are talking about the 22nm cards and when they come out, even high end current cards will look like dinosaurs. DO NOT put faith in a rig for the future. Build a rig for NOW, not the future.

I know, it was a joke (I should've probably said that it was..)
That rig will be a relic of the past when the time comes and as you said "Build a rig for NOW, not the future."
Well said.

OH GOD NO! 2 Titan Blacks cost about $2000 and deliver the same performance, one of the reasons it costs so much is because all of that VRAM that you're never going to use.

I would ditch the two 780 tis and go with one titan black edition. The extra vram will help a lot if you decide on doing nvidia surround later on or something.
