Will Gigabyte AM3+ AMD DDR3 1333 760G HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Motherboard GA-78LMT-USB3
Be compatible with GTX 760? Like is it updated for the 700 series? Because I don't want to flash it, because of past experiences. Thanks ^~^

This PSU is enough to power up GTX 760...
Is it an OEM version of Windows 7? If it is an OEM version it depends. Few can be used again. If not you can find the key using Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder. You can download it from - http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/

Sadly, there's no real way to put the OS that came preinstalled on a computer onto a different one. You need to buy Install Discs. And yeah, you're all set for using the 760. :)

Can't you ask them for a new serial key and remove the one on your motherboard?

You can try to install the software and check if it is able to find out the key. Give it a try !

See, you need installation media, and you don't have any because you bought a pre-built that came with Windows 7 installed. There's no way (without buying another copy of Windows) to put that Windows OS onto another computer.

Very different circumstances. You could do this if you had bought an OEM copy of windows 7 and activated it on your PC. It would create a hardware ID associated with that key. Now if you ever upgraded, or say, needed a new motherboard, you could then call microsoft and see if you could get a new key for the OEM Windows 7 disc you bought so that you could put it on your new computer. It may also be that they assign the key to a new Hardware ID, and not give you a new key, I'm not entirely sure (I haven't done it myself).

Either way, there's no way to do it with a computer that you bought from like HP or Lenovo or Dell (et cetera).

As for the BIOS flash, there's no need to do one for the GPU's sake. You may need to do one if you're installing a Vishera CPU though.

The reason why this motherboard (and any motherboard with a PCI-e slot) is compatible with today's GPUs, is that all PCI-E slots are compatible forwards or backwards. I have never seen an instance where a PCI-e card wouldn't work with a PCI-e motherboard. (Most every GPU and Motherboard fall into this category. Especially a board you would buy)

But can't you call them and say that your motherboard is fried with the operating system? And once they know what happened and its pre-installed, wouldn't they give you a new key or deactivate your old one so you can reactivate it? Because I really can't spend another $100 on a OS..

And really? My current motherboard needed a bios flash because my GPU just would not load up the bios. But after a flash, it worked just fine. So that's why I'm worried if the motherboard has the latest bios version. And what's a vishera CPU?

Wait so is FX 6350 or FX 6300 considered a vishera? My desired mobo says it supports FX series's

If the motherboard is fried, you would need to call your manufacturer and try to claim warranty (if you bought the computer from a company). It's not through Microsoft because you haven't technically purchased anything from them.

And yeah, the 6300 is a Vishera (AM3+) (Any x3xx AMD processor is Vishera). It's compatible, but some motherboards need a BIOS flash before they support the newer chips. You may not need to.

Ohhh! Okay, so I see what you're trying to do now.

You need a new motherboard (for whatever reason), so you're swapping out motherboards in an existing build with Windows 7 on the Hard Drive.

Okay, in this instance, it's still the same outcome. You need to buy a new Operating system.

1) The Hardware ID associated with your CD key will no longer match with your PC, so the key will not work. You would need to buy a new key to change it.

2) Even if you did change the key, the operating system and driver configuration is set up to work with the old motherboard. You will need to reinstall Windows to ensure a properly functioning system.

As far as I know, there's no way around it.

Should I at least try asking Microsoft? Or is it better to waste $100 on a new copy of windows 7..

I mean, it can't hurt, but you'll want to do a clean install anyway because of the hardware changes.

What do you mean by clean install? And how?

Clean Install: Install windows from an Installation CD. As opposed to repair, or upgrade.

Do I need to install it through a CD, or is there an alternate. Because I have to buy a windows 7 disk then.

Also, is there any steps into installing a motherboard, or like do anything to prepare for it? I've heard of reformatting the HDD, do I have to?

Well, it doesn't matter what medium you buy it in. You just need some kind of Windows installation.

Well, you want to back up your important files as you will be reinstalling Windows which will delete all existing partitions and create new ones. Other than that, there's not too much.

Here's a guide if you want it: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2408219,00.asp

I can't think of anything besides what would be covered in a standard installation video. I think you're good to go!
