i buy Asus dsl n12e router wireless n adapter , the price is 50 dollar .

then , i change my old router ( D-link dsl-2640b ) to new router ( Asus dsl n12e )
after i change it , i go to this site ( http://192.168.1.1 ) and do a quick setup ,
i put ID and password as admin , i put the VPI ( visual path identifier ) number is 0 and the VCI ( virtual circuit identifier ) number is 35 . then i do next step until last step then done . :o

why i cannot use internet on my new router ???:( :(  but i still can use internet with old router

ps : i from Malaysia anyway , i think my VPI and VCI number is correct -__-

If your DSL is like american DSL then you need to setup your conncetion type as PPPOE and get your username and password credintials from your ISP
(This is not the same as the username/password you need to access the webgui page at 192.168.1.1)

you need to contact your net provider so it will put your new router mac address on is server permit list .

Some ISPs do require you to register the MAC address of your modem.
You will need the username and password for your account with your ISP, that is needed to establish a connecition
Other then that it is just setting up your wireless settings.
The router should have came with a setup cd that would guide you step by step through the setup.
