Hi, I have brought this computer from a local PC repair shop, Everything worked fine until my PSU fried up, I went back to the repair shop and got a replacement. When i came home and booted my PC, it said I didn't have windows 7 genuine and it had 2 options: enter a key or remind later.
Whenever I click remind later, my OS boots up but my desktop background becomes black.
My PC doesn't have a sticker with a key, not on the case or the MOBO. Help please...
The PC didn't come with any Windows 7 discs/papers. Thanks

The fitting of a new PSU is nothing more than a coincidence, Microsoft has probably just detected that the Product Key used to install Windows on your PC has already been used on one or more computers elsewhere, and that will trigger the "not genuine" message. This message may have been triggered by a recent Windows Update to the validation process.

It sounds like the shop where you bought it from, or the previous owner, has used the same product key several times on different machines. Take the matter up with the shop, and take it further if they do nothing about it.

Thank you for your help, however, I didn't have to contact the shop owner. I have remembered that my old computer had windows 7 home premium as well, that one DID have a sticker on it! I've used the code from it and it worked. I don't know if that's illegal or not though....

To stay legal then, you must remove Windows 7 from your old computer as the Microsoft single-user licence doesn't allow you to have it installed (with the same Product Key) on more than one PC at a time.

If you then want to run Windows on your old PC in future, you will have to buy a retail or OEM Windows disc which comes with a new Product Key.

An OEM disc will be cheaper than a non-OEM (retail) disc, but the downside is that it will be tied to the motherboard of the computer you first install it on. Transferring to another computer is not permitted with OEM installations, whereas with a retail boxed copy you can transfer it to another PC (that's why retail costs more).
