Hi guys.
I recently bought a new HTPC with AMD A8-6600k apu.
my core temp is 15c idle but cpu temp is 50c. which one should i look at? the core temp or the cpu temp?
thanks.

On the APUs the core temp does not read accurately until the processor gets warm. It's apparently a bug in the reporting system of the chip. The CPU temp is probably most accurate in your case.

The core temp is the temp of the individual cores. The CPU temp is the tCase temp; the temp of the sensor under the CPU's heat spreader and will usually read hotter than individual cores. If you go by the CPU temp, you will always have a little headroom for safety.

Btw, 50C is a bit warm at idle. Must be a small case with poor air flow. I would expect that APU to have a high 30Cs to low 40Cs temp at idle in a mid tower case with proper air flow and a stock heat sync/fan.
