What's the difference between those monitors beside the resolution/height and a big price difference ?

Beside the 1200px resolution, is there any other reasons to go with the ASUS VS24AH-P ?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I was reading modernwarfare's post and he/she made it seem like one had virtues over the other; I re-read everything as he/she made me doubt myself for a moment. I guess I did not mention the corporate stable model and the rapid replacement advantages for the VS24AH-P but in terms of picture quality there isn't something significant that I could vouch for either enough to say there's a "clear winner" unless you just value the higher resolution by that much. For me, I am considering upgrading to 1920x1200 and for $50 I'd actually agree with modern warfare about that choice but outside of what's already been discussed these monitors are too close to call without assuming what...
ASUS VN248H-P:
Ideal for a multi-screen solution with a super narrow frame
Best for work and play with Full HD 1080p visual quality and 178° ultra wide viewing angle IPS panel
ASUS VividPixel Technology for crystal-clear and detail-oriented enjoyment
MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) function for Enhanced Viewing from Mobile to Monitor
The ASUS VN248H-P features AH-IPS (Advanced High-Performance In-Plane Switching) display technology for superior color accuracy, a brighter image from increased backlight transmission and lower power consumption.

ASUS VS24AH-P:
Delicate touches make a monitor truly great, VS24AH-P 1920x1200 IPS LED monitor, with16:10 aspect ratio, 80,000,000:1 high contrast ratio and HDMI interface, is optimized for the finest image and color quality. This approach extends to the sturdy stand and slim profile without compromising style in ensuring stability and durability.
The exclusive Splendid Video Intelligence Technology optimizes video performance and image fidelity by enhancing color, brightness, contrast, and sharpness. 6 preset video modes (Scenery, Theater, Game, Night View, sRGB and Standard) can be selected via a hotkey.

Clearly the ASUS VS24AH-P is the winner in higher contrast and better picture quality.

The contrast is the same on both monitors. Both also has Splendid technology

AFAIK They really look like the same, beside the resolution.

What else gives the VS24AH-P a "better picture quality" ?

Reading the marketing description is not the best way to compare them. They're actually the same contrast and picture quality, using the same ah-ips technology and osd options. Besides what was already pointed out: size, res, and bezel (stand is different too), the vs24ah-p costs more because it's a corporate stable model with a rapid replacement warranty. I'd go with the vn as that's not worth $50 more. It still has the same length 3 year warranty and the thinner bezel is more ideal for multi monitor setups.
