I have 4gb (2x2gb) G.SKILL eco 1600mhz 1.37v (stock) ram timings are 7-8-7-24 and I can't overclock it I tried setting it at 1866mhz with the voltage bumped up to 1.6v and adjusted timings to 6-8-6-24. from what I've seen online with the voltage at 1.6v and the timing set to 6-8-6-24 I should easily be able to get 1946mhz but for some reason when I try to set it at 1866mhz upon restart it lowers it to 1333mhz even if I let the motherboard auto adjust the timings it does the same thing
my build is as follows

motherboard- FM2A55M-VG3+ which supports up to 1866mhz so I know that's not the issue

CPU/APU- A6-5400k 3.6ghz (underclocked to 3.2ghz till I get new thermal compound) which has native support for 1866mhz so that also is not an issue

RAM- 4gb (2x2gb) G.SKILL eco 1600mhz@1.37v

PSU- Corsair CX500 bronze plus certified

considering the system as a whole, you will see no difference between 1600mhz and 1866.

my suggestion is that if increasing the voltages has not worked for you, then stop trying. it is not worth the un-noticable performance boost with the possibility of bricking your ram
