I'm currently in the process of helping a friend build a somewhat budget gaming PC and was just wanted your guys inputs. This is going to be used mainly for gaming and other standard use.

I know that there is no RAM or an optical drive listed and that's because we already have those parts. Any thoughts or price cuts you can find justifiable would be appreciated (would prefer to be closer to the 750$ mark). This is US based as well.

CPU: AMD FX-6300 - 109.99
CPU fan: Stock - cheap
Mobo: Gigabyte 990fxa - 125.00

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120gb - 84.99
GPU: Gigabyte Windforce 770 2gb - 329.99
Case: Rosewill challenger - 49.99
PSU: Corsair cx600m - 74.99

Total coming to $798 USD.

the stock cooler can be noisy when at low, you could get a cooler like Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO but you will have to check ram compatibility. Or get a low profile cooler if you are worried.
You could get this motherboard - Asus M5A97 R2.0 - to try and get a cooler but if you are willing to save up later for a cooler it should be fine.
Your PSU choice isn't the best and is a budget PSU. Theoretically it will be fine but you could get a better quality like a XFX 550W or a seasonic equivalent

+1 for the Hyper 212 EVO

I've had an FX 6300 on a Gigabyte 970 board up to 4.4GHz under an EVO on near stock voltage. Kept it well cooled.

+1 for a good PSU

The Corsair isn't bad, but the XFX would be a little better. I'd suggest 650w for that CPU and GPU though, as you want a little overhead to keep the PSU at peak efficiency and not have the cooling fan in it getting loud.
