Hi guys
ive seen a radeon HD7770 for £68 and im considering upgrading to it from my current HD5750 .... how much performance will i see moving from a HD5750(sapphire) to a sapphire HD7770 ?
ive also got a ASUS GTX550ti which i know is also fairly good, however i removed this due to the poor drivers since 314.22 ..allthough i could refit it and use that driver ...
basically i want a card that will run the latest games at reasonable detail at 1920x1080 ( 1366x768 minimum ) and from what ive seen the HD7770 has enough performance to do this
many thanks guys

The 7770 has almost double the texel and pixel fill rates that the 5750 has, so a rough estimation would be that the 7770 is almost twice as fast as the 5750--definitely worth it!

The 550 Ti has higher texel fill rate than the 7770, but the 7770 has higher pixel fill rate so it's probably a wash in terms of performance. I'd slap that 550 Ti back in your system (uninstall all AMD drivers, run Display Driver Uninstaller to catch the remnants) and see how it does since you're basically looking at the same performance as the 7770.

The 7770 beats the 550 Ti in almost every game, but not so much that you should get a 7770 if you already have a 550 Ti...

thanks guys .....
ive also seen the HD7790 for £82 and its the 1 x 6pin connector version ... this would obviously hammer the HD7770 however ive checked the memory bandwidth and its significantly lower than the HD6790 .and by quite a bit ....( 136gb/sec compared to 96gb/sec ) .. why did AMD reduce the memory interface to just 128bit from 256bit ?
infact its lower than the GTX550ti,s 98gb/sec .. allthough the core and memory clock speeds are higher and the 1.79 tfllops compute power shows its true power
finally a quick question .. im using a ivybridge core i5 3330 and the HD7770 supports pci-express x16 gen3.0 ... and my motherboard is a gigabyte GA-H61MA-D2V which also supports v3.0 ... would i see any improvement using the v3.0 standard compared to v2.1 which is currently used with the HD5750 ?

About the PCI-express... Only high end GPUs can actually utilize the 3.0 and GPUs like the 7770 support it but don't gain any real benefit from it.
