Hello!

I've heard some people say that any i5 will crush that amd cpu. So I surfed the web a bit, and most benchmarks say that they have almost the same informance, the i5 being only a bit better.

Since I'm looking forward to buying a new pc, I don't feel like giving almost double the money for almost the same performance. So what do you think? Is it worth the price difference?(Both of them being at stock, no OC).

Hm, okay. Well first if you're going stock everything with no OC for sure get the 3570, the K just adds unlocked multiplier so you can overclock. Usually looking at this I would recommend the 6300, it puts in a really good showing for its price, but I think based off of the games you play a 3570 or a 4570 or something might be better, since a few of those games are MMORPG's or MOBA's which work a lot better on Intel usually. Also, with a 4670 or the like...

As JOOK has said, pretty much the i5 will outperform a 6300. The i5 is more in line with the 8350, and even then Intel usually still wins out in performance. AMD CPUs will usually require an overclock to even compete with an i5 (assuming you'll be using the latest generation).

It also depends on what games you play. There are plenty of games where the i5 and the 8350 will perform about equal, but then there are other games (older, and a majority of multiplayer) where the Intel just is in another league.

Well it depends on a few things:
1.What will you be doing on the PC? Assuming you will be gaming, what types of games (specifically would be best)?
2.Which specific i5 is it(ex. the i5 4440, 3570K, etc.)?
3.Are you concerned about power consumption a large deal?
4.Are you buying an aftermarket cooler or sticking with stock?
5.Do you multi-task frequently?
6.Are you doing this just to save money, or using it another area of the PC?
7.Do you already have the motherboard? Just to make sure, because some people think any motherboard will work with any CPU, but I will assume you know it won't already.

1. Smite, BF3, War Thunder, WoW. Mostly online, since I have a ps3 :D
2. 3570k.
3. No.
4. At least for some time I'll be sticking with stock, because I'm kinda a begginner :)
5. Usually yes.
6. To save money.
7. I don't have it, but I've been thinking at an ASRock 960GC-GS FX.
