I have one gtx 780 and was gonna get another and run sli. Should I wait and just get one 800 series a d sell the Gtx 780 I already own.

Solution
No, honestly it isn't going to be worth it IMO. Get another 780 if you plan on getting a new card, because the 800 series will be crazily marked up, and for a long time as well.
Just my opinion, it's completely up to you to decide. Plus, dual 780's TANKS any other SLI/CF setup based upon benchmarks and user reviews.

No. Unless you have a lot of money, 2 780's will give more performance than a single 800 series.

it depends how much increase of performance it provide in real world scenario . . . on paper it is a good leap forward . . but it think sli 780 will be good option . . if wait until the release of 800 series so you can get idea how much boost you gonna get in term of performance and price . . until then you are okay with even single 780

Not anymore. Some games have issues with sli on release, but those get fixed quickly. I have not had any microstutter in some time now...nvidia has essentially eliminated it.

Right now I run 2550x1400 and it does pretty good I just want a constant 60 fps while playing my games and ensure that I will continue to get that for quite some time

I have another question for you guys.... i have am I7-3820 processor 3.6 ghz 10 mb cache.. Asus Intel x79 x press chipset....will two 780 in sli be bottlenecked at all due to my hardware specs?

No. You should not. The chip set is not where I would see you hang up, more at the processor or RAM. How much RAM do you have, and what speed?

You will be fine. I have less RAM than you do.
