Basically something glided against the screen and there is now what looks like a smudge mark going across the screen. This could be a scratch but it is unlike any scratch I have ever seen as it has no dentation or cuts in or between the actual pixels or on the screen.
I would paste a picture But I am not sure of how to do this with tom's hardware anyway is there any way to get rid of this gray line or will it fade over time, this is a very expensive monitor so only trusted chemicals as recommendations if any please

This is strange it just vanished, after being glided over by my laptop somehow it has just fixed itself and there is no trace of a mark at all, Is this a feature of high end monitors?

no this is not a feature . . it is damn luck . . don't try to check it by rubbing or pressing that area . you are good to go

sounds like magnetic interference, like if you ever put a magnet near a laptop screen, or tv, or crt monitor i think, they would get all distorted...

No my laptop slid across my desktop monitor, maybe the metal on the side had some static charge in in or something, anyway I have no way to check the display as my desktop is out of action
