I know that there are haters, but people need to agree that Windows 8 boots faster, is more secure, and with the upcoming service pack is much more desktop friendly then before.

But my other point is that with windows 7 OEM version (unlike windows 8 OEM) you need to buy a new copy if you get a new motherboard. So that is the main reason to go with 8. (Plus, on SSD I get 8 second boots when I turn my PC on in the morning)

You can also modify Windows 8 and remove the start screen so it performs just like Windows 7!
