My screen blacked out for a second, then this warning popped up. It hasn't come back since but whenever I type/move the mouse, random pixels on the screen flash and blank out. Does anyone know how to fix this or is my card (Geforce 210 (don't laugh)) on it's last legs?

How is the GPU performing when display driver crashes? Could be fan problem on the video card itself. Check fan function, and GPU temp.

the temps were ok, fan speed slightly higher than normal...I system restored and that seems like it's fixed it. Putting it down to a faulty driver, thanks for your responses.
