Firstly, I'm not too sure, if you can even upgrade laptops, but here goes: I have a Acer Aspire V7-581PG at the moment, and it has an Intel Core i7-3537U CPU @2.00GHz 2.50 Ghz, can I upgrade this in anyway? Moreover, is there anyway of upgrading the cooling fan (it's getting hot very quick)?

On laptops especially do not upgrade anything that will increase the TDP and subsequent heat! There are too many components crammed into very tight spaces.
You mentioned a high heat situation. Is this recent? A careful cleaning with a can of compressed air may be advisable.
