I've had this PC for almost 4 years, it was working fine with a few BSoDs problem that I solved somehow by taking the CPU out re applying thermal paste.

A few months later, the pc had always had the problem that if i turned it off, it took a while to boot up again, had to try and try, so I'd leave it on or restart it once in a while.

The problem now is, one day it didn't boot up anymore(it does turn on), I have no beeps when taking out ram, or no beeps to even boot.

Here I am wondering, I got a new mobo, same model as mine, I thought it was the mobos problem.. so whats more likely being the problem? The CPU, or the PSU?

I'm trying to get a hold of someone psu to try it out but I can't find one (All fans turn on, led etc.)

I'd love some help.

Specs as I remember

Asus m4at8t-e
4gb RAM
AMD Athlon II
Videocard amd radeon hd 5xxx series

You definitely need a reliable PSU to troubleshoot this one.

Agreed it sounds a lot like the PSU. If your PSU does not deliver the right amount of voltage to your CPU this could be what causing our BSOD. Hopefully it did not damage the motherboard.

I just bought a new motherboard.

I'm on my way to go test the PSU, hopefully it's that, cause i just some money on a new mobo thinking it was the problem.

Maybe it was the PSU all along and I bought a new mobo for nothing, I'm more worried about the CPU, hopefully still working.

I have been their and have done that. It sucks but the silver lining is you can sell your old Mobo on ebay and recupe some of your money.

Ouch that sucks. If it is not the PSU or the Motherboard then there is only one thing left the CPU. If you have a friend or another place you can take the CPU to test it would be great. Hate to see you buy another CPU if you did not need it.

Will the cpu still heat up if its not working? is there no other way of knowing if cpu is working without having to find someone with an am3 socket? :\

Finally got the cpu, and PC runs again smoothly, I guess I was one of those unlucky guys to burn a cpu.

Thanks for your help guys.
