Hi,
I'm building new computer strictly for photoshop and lightroom. Since after 2 weeks of reading forums and articles I haven't decided yet I would like to ask, if anyone can give me advice.

Right now it would go for:

Questions:
I'm not sure about i5 Ivy. For PS@LR is it better to get this CPU and overclock it or should I rather get XEON or i7. In case of i7 how much would overclocking help to increase performance?

Another question is GPU - so far I chose GTX660 but is it necessary or I can save some money here? If yes which GPU take? Or what about NVIDIA Quadro K600, would it be better solution for PS&LR purpose?

And about power supply - I found some recommendation on chosen Seasonic, but isn't 650W too much?

Thx for any advice.

Agreed. I think you are going to see better performance with a Hyperthreded CPU then with the i5. Yes over clocking will help but then you have to get into third party coolers and more money. As for Xeons they can not be overclocked. They are designed for servers and huge uptimes. They do have multiple QPIs which makes so they can work in tandem with each other but you would have to get a multiple CPU motherboard which would cost some money.

I would suggest an i7 K series so if you wanted to OC you can and it won't break the bank like a i7 3770K if you must go with Ivy Bridge.

i suggest getting minitITX build for photographer, some ppl requested me before to build this. because they move around and want to bring their pc along with them.

i vote for xeon, no OC required, its hyperthreading is powerful enough,
gpu, use radeon because of openCL acceleration. radeon wins by a huge margin over nvidia
