Their website does not show it on the compatibility list but I have been using Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 with no problem until now I have been experiencing random shutdowns. Could this be the cause of it?

It should work just fine, but you might want to call Crucial Tech support and run it by them. You will need the exact model number(s) from your ram so they can check it.
And yes, RAM can cause random shutdowns, and freezes (more common). BUT I would suspect heat (dirty and dusty interior and fans, poor air flow, failing heat sink fan or GPU fan, loose heat sink) or power supply.
What PSU are you using? (Brand, model, wattage, amperage - usually found on the side label of the PSU).
And what is the rest of your system and are you overclocking?

Temp is low. I am not overclocking the CPU but I do use the MSi Gaming app to put my GPU into OC mode since its the OC Edition

Hi!

Bought the same MB, CPU and RAM. Would be nice to know if you could solve your problem.

From what I read somewhere, you will need to update BIOS to the latest one as it could cause this kind of problems. Then this kit of Crucial Ballistix Sport 2 x 4 RAM seem also to be haveing some higher degree of faulty memory modules. Did you run memtest86+ or some other memory testing software?
