I'm trying to make my poorly built "gaming pc" last for a little while longer and I recently ordered a new video card so now my CPU is my bottleneck. I made a little chart of the compatible CPU's (link) that were shown compatible on this page (link), but while I was looking around I saw a few people say that some AM3+ processors can be used on AM3 boards. If that's true then I could get a little better processor and not have to buy it used. I'm not really sure how to know if my board is compatible with some AM3+ processors, and if so what processors it is compatible with.

Here's the link to my mobo's specs, basically my overall goal is to get the most out of a processor upgrade for gaming without upgrading my mobo.

That board supports up to Phenom X6's. Even an X4 would be enough for gaming. You won't do much (if any) over clocking on that motherboard though. As far as AM3+ chips being compatible, I have no idea if that board would run them or not.

You could get a good Phenom X4 (at least a 955) or X6 would be all you can do here. But the board is not meant for overclocking, which is a HUGE let down for Phenom CPU's since overclocking them is when they really start to shine.

I'd invest in a new AM3+ mobo for ~$60-$120 and get a CPU for it. Work from there.

That's definitely a solution, but I'm trying to do this for under $120. If I was to spend more I wouldn't be going AMD for my processor again. Just trying to do the best with the mobo I currently have right now.
