Was it USB mouse+KB? You might want to try using PS2 KB. Or go to BIOS setting make sure your all USB port is active when booting.

It was USB, but I don't have access to a PS2 keyboard, nor have time to order one, unfortunately. I checked all the BIOS settings though, that was the first thing I tried. I also had the necessary drivers already on the flash drive I booted from, hoping it would fix it.
  3. They are not USB 3 ports are they? If so, they won't work, and you will have to plug into USB 2 ports if available.
  4. Nope, thought of that too, tried the 2.0's that were on the back of the tower, still no good
