I was looking at this monitor. I know it's not meant for 'gaming' but color accuracy and depth matters more to me than response time or refresh rate. It seems just about perfect for what I'm looking for.

However, I'm guessing it's not compatible with gsync, so that's a blow against it.
Is anyone aware of a 16:10 1920x1200 monitor that supports gsync or a gsync module? It should be IPS or an equivalent panel quality, and it must be either LED or OLED.
I know that's highly specific, so if there are no suggestions I'll just stick with the ASUS one I linked above.

For image editing work, you definitely will want an IPS or PLS panel. TN and other types are kind of not a good choice for that.

Yeah, you can't get a g-sync IPS.... about all you can get is an IPS/PLS that overclocks to 96 or 120Hz... but it is a no-name brand.

Here are the links:
http://www.blurbusters.com/overclock/120hz-1440p-ips-mo...
It is the QNIX QX2710
27" 1440p, PLS panel, overclocks to 96 or 120Hz
PLS is kinda the same as IPS

These panels come from Korea (but I guess they are backed by Amazon's return policy?).
My guess is these are PLS panels from Samsung's factories. The panels are PLS, which is Samsung's version of the IPS panel. Since they are coming from Korea and are PLS, that's what makes me suspect they are coming from Samsung's panel manufacturers (but it's just a guess).

Note: for a 24" I like the specs you picked out on that other monitor.
The extra vertical space on 1920x1200 is nice and fits well on a 24" monitor.

Eh, that's a pity. :(
You mean there are literally no g-sync IPS/PLS panels, or they're just not common yet?
I'd rather not go 1440p, my video card wouldn't run anything at a playable framerate above medium settings.

In fact, there is actually no g-sync panels at all (IPS or TN). :)
I don't think they've released any monitors yet with g-sync already built in (could be wrong, as we are very close to when they go in sale I think). I think the Asus ak47jar3d linked to only supports g-sync if you purchase the g-sync upgrade kit and personally add it to the monitor.
Anyways, of all the monitors we know about, all of the g-sync ones being planned are TN panels I think. Maybe in the future we will see an IPS with g-sync, but I don't know. Right now, I think the extra frame rate required pushes the limits of the response times IPS can achieve.

Side note: Ok, apparently there is one monitor where g-sync is already instead, but all it is is someone took the Asus model and installed the g-sync module for you.

Note: if you don't want the 27" I mentioned, this is probably a pretty good choice.

You might be able to find a model with 10bit color depth (instead of 8) if you want me to look for one?

Oh. I think I'll just forget about gsync for the time being and go with the monitor that I was looking at before. :3 Or perhaps wait until gsync is adopted by more monitors.

No thanks, I'll just wait and see what happens in the monitor world in the months to come.
