So i have a xfx 7970 double-d ( i know it is not the best, but it was on sale for 200$), and on idle it is running at 66C. Don't get me started while gaming. ( 85C.) I cleaned out my case which as 2 intakes, 1 rear exhaust, side intake, and 1 top exhaust. and its still running way to hot at idle or gaming.

It has been my experience that XFX cards do not have the best cooling in general. For my XFX 7950 I had to replace the stock cooler with one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835426031 , because my temps were getting higher than I wanted them to while gaming. With this being said 85C is not too out of the question when concerning graphics cards, though it is on the high side. What kind of case do you have? What about the case fans, what type did you put in? I haven't seen side fans really adding much to cooling inside of cases, in fact at times it might disturb the airflow more than it helps anything.
