I would like to add watercooling loops to the cross-chill motherboard block since I have all the components readily available.

I just want to know if there will be any corrosion problems if my other pieces are XSPC Raystorm Acetal/Copper CPU waterblock + copper radiator?

Has anyone watercooled their maximus VI formula or other formula boards?

Just FYI I'm using a D5 vario pump, standard primochill tubing and Hydryx PM 2 Green UV coolant.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of their own, because I too know of the issue of anodized aluminum blocks posing a potential corrosion problem. However, I haven't actually SEEN or heard of any corrosion pictures/videos of the VI formula on the internet yet though which has me being optimistic.

Thank you Raja for the link. I have seen those salt-sprayed pictures, but wasn't sure if it would be appropriately comparable to a liquid coolant with biocide.

I will go ahead and liquid cool my Maximus VI formula's cross-chill block using Hydrx PM Green UV coolant and post my results in a couple months time (hoping nothing goes wrong by then).

Sounds good looking forward to the results. Looks like ASUS is confident in their coating though.

Just for your future info Ashihtaka salt spray is quite nearly the worst thing you can do to any metal. It is much harsher and a far better environment for corrosion than regular water or any coolant. That is why it is used as a standard industrial test against corrosion.

Just an update, I'm not going to use Swiftech hydrx (looks worse than I thought in clear tubes), but either Mayhems Pastel or distilled water + Mayhems UV dye.

After 5 months of watercooling the Maximus VI formula using hydryx pm 2 green coolant, Everything is running fine and the liquid is still crystal clear. For anyone considering any issues watercooling the crosschill - don't worry go for it!

Awesome man good to hear from someone that tried it! Thanks for keeping us updated.
