Hey guys, spilled some water on a brand new gaming rig. :fou:

It was a 20oz cup, probably 6oz of which hit the tower, not a lot went inside of the tower but some did.

Computer was on while it happened, I immediately unplugged the computer and dried it off. Tried to boot it up a while later and got several rapid beeps (didn't count how many)

Went off to run some errands and just came back.

Tried to boot it up again and this time it starts to power up, the CPU fan gets to full speed and then stops. There are no beep codes at all.

Already removed video card, no change. Removed everything including RAM and it gives me the 3 long beeps for a memory problem. Tried 1 stick and it gives me no beeps, cpu fan stops once it gets to full speed.

Couple questions;
I imagine the mobo is fried, but would the CPU be fried as well?
Could the video card be fried too? I think a saw a small drop of water on the chip.

I have a full coverage warranty on the motherboard, but I don't think it covers the CPU as well.

Pretty bummed out, only had it for a couple of weeks and haven't gotten much of a chance to use it.

Thanks for any info you guys can provide.

edit forgot to include specs
msi z87-g41
i5 4670k 3.4ghz
660gtx
750w thermaltake

Solution
I doubt anything is fried at all. Just take apart everything and blow them with a hair dryer (from every possible angle looking for any water drops.) and assemble it again and then try.
