i have 4770K (not overclocked) and corsair hydro series h100i for the cooler
i've been through the list, and every thread in here never determines an actual safe temp for an the 4770K while running prime95.
ok so heres what i have gotten from other threads. safe temps for tcase is 72c but i was wondering about the temps i get using coretemp ,HWMonitor, realtemp (same on all 3)
currently my temps are
IDLE: 26c
Playing Games: 38-43c with a 51c spike
prime95 small FFT shot up to 78c-81c immediately so i stopped the test.
prime95 large FFT temp was at 59c after 15 minutes of testing so i stopped the test
prime95 blend - ran 5 hours, noticed on realtemp it got up to 81 during 2nd hour but i have no idea how long they stayed that way cause when i checked it was at 62c and the test passed with no errors several times during the 5 hour blend test.
EDIT: gonna try new thermal application instead of using h100i pre-applied stuff. using antec 7 nano diamond.
