My current Pc specs are:

i5 4670k (Gelid Tranquillo cooler, standard clock)
MSI h91m-e33 mobo (because its was cheap)
8gb ddr3 Corsair 666mhz 9.0 clock latency RAM
XFX 6970 2gb GPU (with arctic accelero hybrid cooler)
Corsair 540 air cube case

I have around £200 to spend upgrading this. I have been doing this bit by bit over time and have got to a point where I am looking at the motherboard and overclocking. But I still think I could do with better ram as mine is pretty poor as you can see.

The options I can see are clearly up0grading to a z87 mobo as this is a great priced, high spec set. I have seen a few like this

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi-z87-mpower-intel-z87-s1150-ddr3-sata-iii-6gb-s-pcie-30-sli-xfire-wifi-killernic-sb-cinema-dp-hdm

which also includes a water cooler for my cpu. which would certainly help with OC'ing my 4670k. but this would use up most of my budget, leaving pretty much no money for ram. Alternatively, I could go for this snyper on offer

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B00GK646OE?tag=ho01f-21

using my current Gelid cooler, and then upgrade my RAM to something like

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/8gb-%282x4gb%29-corsair-ddr3-vengeance-racing-red-pc3-17066-%282133%29-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-11-11-11-27-xm

but maybe shop around for a more suitable colour :)

Any help would be great, thanks in advance

just looked up the hero, love it! seems a great option. Worth the £50 extra over the z87 snyper tho? And worth the same price as the MSi Z87 M with the liquid cooler?

the other issue being the RAM. I mean, its pretty slow and terrible, I'm almost certain it will hamper my attempts to OC my 4670k. Ive seen the hero for just under £150 so could maybe still get that corsair vengance 8gb i listed...

+1

Why'd you even have 666MHz RAM anyways? Lol...
