I have just check all my components on my motherboard( pre check or Post) and entered the Bios for the first time, all components working. I made a Bios Flashback so I have the latest Bios for my motherboard.
Now I wish to make a Memtest 86+ on my Ram, first at stock value 1600 MHZ, then at XMP - 2133 MHZ. ( prior to installing OS)
My question is considering my components, which is the best choice for my Boot and OS ( No OS installed yet) and what is the best usage of RAM and SSD, HDD, in my case.
My set up: Asus Maximus VI Formula, CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K, GPU: EVGA GTX 780 Ti,
RAM:Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x8 GB 2133 MHZ, SSD: Corsair Neutron GTX 240GB, Corsair Neutron GTX 120GB, HDD: W/D. Black 3 TB
thank guys

Ok thanks for the fast reply, thats what I thought. Would you choose the 120GB ( which is what I planned) or would it be better on the 240 GB, I think 120GB should be enough is that correct? Which ever one I will only connect one until I install the OS to avoid any possible mistake by Windows - does that sound wise?

First, I would run Memtest86 from a bootable USB flash drive.

Next, you can easily put the OS on the 120 GB SSD. I have Win 7, Office, Adobe Lightroom, Canon Digital Photo Pro and a boatload of utilities on my 128 GB SSD and I'm only using 22.9 GB.

Very wise to only have one drive attached during OS installation.

as YOGI said, 120gbs is pretty enough for OS and other software that you mainly use for daily. The rest of larger files like games, videos, etc should install directly to HDD. For example, on my corsair sdd 128gbs i install window 8.1, adobe after effects, sony vegas, internet download manager, microsoft offices, and some other utilities that required small amount of storage. On ssd my os takes about 5-6 seconds to boot completely while hdd is like 10-12s
