I am upgrading my old pair of razer megalodons. The two headsets i am looking at the most are the:

Plantronics gamecom commander
Razer tiamat 7.1

The primary use for these is for gaming and communication over skype. I want to know which of these is going to be better in terms of directional hearing and mic quality. If there is a better headset out there that has 7.1 surround capabilities with a built in microphone then that is also an option. I really dont have a price limit, i simply want the best. (Ok well be reasonable, ive seen those $1000+ Pairs)
The biggest features i am looking for
-good directional hearing
-High quality microphone
-7.1 surround
-comfort
-Overall audio quality
I have heard that the commanders are uncomfortable at first but after a break in period feel ok. I dont mind having to break headphones in for comfort if its neccassary. As usual thanks for the help guys

My sound card: INTEGRATED IDT 92HD73E AUDIO

Well, there is only 1 headset which delivers 7.1 True Audio. And you know, Tiamat 7.1
So, 7.1 hands down.
But make sure that you have a 7.1 Internal/External sound card.

It doesnt matter to me if it is true or simulated 7.1. Also i will be upgrading my soundcard to an Asus ROG Xonar Phoebus. Ive heard a lot of mixed reviews about the tiamat but im nervous about the commander providing equal or greater sound quality and directional hearing. I have heard bad things about using a usb sound card so im sort of nervous about the commander.

Anyways, it is the best in terms of gaming. But make sure you just go for newer games like Battlefield 4 or so, with older games you might not get that 7.1 sound.

The mic quality is just alright. But I had some people complaining about it.
