Hello there, I have intel i7-3820 and it is Very very [EXTREMEEEEE] hot. All the cores are showing 55-55-59-56c in idle. I have thermal take Firo as cooler and have a good exhaust fan in case. while render in after effect it reaches 97-98-99-96c for just 2min VDO. I tried thermal paste changing and Deepcool Assasin as cooler but still the same result. Could any1 pleaase reply or help me? M from Nepal Actually.

Are you overclocking at all? You also have to take into account room temperature. The temperature of the room is going to have a big effect because you can't cool something below ambient room temperature without using refrigeration. So if your room is 55c you aren't going to get below that. If not I would try re-seating and reapplying a different paste, arctic silver 5 is a good cheap standby and MX2 isn't bad either. Make sure you only put on a very small amount and you clean both surfaces very well, preferably with isopropyl alcohol. The amount of paste to use is basically a line the size of an uncooked grain of rice. You may also have a bad cpu. The 3rd and 4th generation Intel chips have a problem with the TIM under the heat...

The 3rd and 4th generation Intel chips have a problem with the TIM under the heat spreader, so some people Delid to get more consistent lower temperatures. I have an instructional video on how to do it linked below.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was expecting the same answer. I saw your link and had seen the Delid video from another guy. I guess that's the last thing that I have to do. Well m not overclocking so I was pretty worried. Well lets see what happens. In here [Nepal] we don't get thermal paste here but we have to use stock thermal paste. Well I'll ask my friend to send those to me. If not then will switch to 4930k.
I saw the delid vdo in youtube but this 1 was little ... hope you'll like it Davil.

Not a problem, if you do delid though use liquid pro or liquid ultra, the other pastes aren't meant for use under the IHS so in my experience with AS5, MX-2 and MX-4 they all dry out very quickly and stop working after a few days. Liquid pro/ultra yields temps that are about 10c lower and it lasts forever it seems like.
