what is SMPS and ATX?

i was finding a PSU for my GFX card , i decided to go for VS 650 , on one site it said VS 650 , on other site it said VS 650 SMPS? heeelp , are they different?

SMPS = Switched mode power supply = PSU = Power supply unit.
Both are the same things said in different way. the supply power to all the pc components. don't go for a cheap one it may fry up your system.(Crossair vs 650 is a great one). If you tell me the GFX card I may suggest a better psu.
