I have a mSI KA780g motherboard, its capable of using ddr2 memory. I want to know what the best kind of memory I should get for this. I am into gaming but nothing hardcore. The memory i have now doesnt seem to be cutting it. How do I tell?

You should be aiming for 2GB PC2-6400 Non-ECC DIMM. Your motherboard is capable of supporting upto 8GB of memory. If you are doing normal gaming then 4GB should be enough else try to upgrade the max. More is always better.

I have 8gb in it now. Just seems to be groggy. Would going to ddr2-1066 help?
No, that wouldn't help much. It is better to go with a new system or try replacing the CPU with a powerful one which that motherboard supports. Also if you are playing graphic games then you need a better GPU.
I dont hardcore game. Just play simcity, or the sims. Not sure if one of my ram chips are bad or something. I was also thinking about replacing the CPU....
