Can I install a Radeon 7850 into a gaming PC that uses an APU?

Howdy all,

Okay so I'm pretty dissapointed with my 7850 so I have decided to fork out cash to purchase an XFX 7870 DD edition.

My girlfriend has a gaming PC too and was wondering if she could have my old 7850.

We're both quite new to PC gaming (since December 2013), and neither of us built our systerms, we bought them pre-built (please dont judge!).

This is her spec:

AMD A8 6600K QUAD CORE 3.9 GHz (with 4.2 Ghz/ Turbo Mode)
8gb Ram DDR3 1600MHZ
AMD HD 8570D GRAPHICS
500W PSU
MSI FM2-A55M-E33 uATX Motherboard

So what I understand is that an APU is a CPU + a GPU in one. This particular APU is okay, we played Dota 2 together for the most part it's fine but she says at times it does lag.

Is it possible to install a 7850 gpu in this system? Will it work alongside this APU or will there be complications? If it wont work, please explain why.

Thanks

Koushick

It will work, just install the Card and plug the monitor cables into the card and NOT to the motherboard.
Bam. you will now be using the 7850.

So there will be no compatibility issued whatsoever by running the 8570D and 7850 alongside each other? What do I with the drivers that are already installed for the 8570D?

Will they cause issued once I install the drivers for the 7850? Won't that be a problem in it self?

Un-install the old driver software before putting in the new GPU if you are worried... but its unlikely you'll run into any issues, once you've downloaded the 7850 drivers they should overwrite automatically. You can un-install them just to be safe though.
