Minecraft Keeps Freezing Every Few Seconds?

When I play Minecraft the game freezes every 30 seconds or so but the audio keeps going and when it unfreezes the game is were it would be if it hadn't frozen?

Please Help, Thanks

system specs:
AMD Bulldozer FX-6100 6 core CPU
8gb Corsair Vengeance ddr3 RAM
Asus Radeon R9 280X Matrix Platinum 3gb
Corsair RM850
Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard
Aerocool Strike-X GT Toolless Mid Tower Gaming Case

See if running CCleaner and doing the Clean and Registry portions both helps. It could be registry errors. https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
Also, check and see if you have a lot of stuff running in the background that you can live without. Check your Tray. Check the System Configuration/Start Up tab and see how many boxes are checked. (more than 8-10?) Uncheck any you are familiar with that you can do without.

Have you changed gfx cards recently and not cleaned out the old driver first? You can uninstall the current driver, run Driver Sweeper from safe mode, and have it remove any remnants of Nvidia, AMD, ATI graphic drivers it finds. Then re-boot and install the latest driver for your card and OS. http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4266-driver-sweeper.html

I have changed graphics card recently but the only other driver i have is a nvidia phyx one but i need that to play antichamber

no i was having a problem getting anti chamber to load on a amd graphics card and i was told to install the phyx driver and it worked but i was still having this problem before i installed it

this is a good point my hdd with my os on is a bit broke because i was having problem previously that made my pc switch off all the time and it kind of messed up my hdd so i got a new one for my games. but i installed it on to that as well to see it is worked but it didn't sooo yeah.

Oh, OK. Yeah I have that problem when I use an AMD card and run Metro 2033. It needs to see a physX driver for some reason... even with an AMD card I usually just install 3DMark Vantage for use with my benchmarking, and all is well because it provides the PhysX driver.
