Alright, I've been dealing with this for weeks and I am going to go berserk soon! My mother had a desktop, I now have it..she CLEAN reinstalled windows 8. It came with 7. I do have a reinstall disc from dell.. Its an insporion. When I got to where do you want to put windows 7 there were 8 on the list. I looked up what to do on google and sommeone said delete them all! I didn't really think that was right. I deleted a few thinking it would create unallocated space that I could use and poof they were gone. Wtf! She deleted all the drivers for 7. There is no primary os.. What do I do? I can't push the next button. The expand doesnt come up.. Did she just destroy this poor machine? Oh and what I have left says its not partioned? I hit format out of desperation.. Nothing. There is no f8.. I can go into bios and that's it. As of now there is no os on this and all thats left are the 8 drivers. This should work! Its a reinstall disc.
Thanks! I'd appreciate any help.

Hi
You said dell Inspiron so pressing key F12. During post will bring up menu
Which device do you want to boot from
Either hard disk or in your case DVD drive
Or run diagnostics

Is there any data that needs recovering or do you just want to put Dell Windows 7 back on the PC

If so
Try again take advanced option and remove all partitions
Reboot F12 again and let recovery system disk do its work
I have assumed you are talking about a set of Dell recovery dvd's (2 or 3)
Not a windows 7 oem DVD

The recovery DVD set will include windows drivers
If you have a windows 7 DVD you will need the licence key which matches the DVD and is not in use

The device drivers & user guide are on Dells website as well as service & upgrade guides

Thank you for the fast reply, I was having visions of the thing under a hammer! It would have felt good! Thank you again!
